I migliori caschi racing 2019, guida all’acquisto [sub ENG]

Who rides on the track knows it very well: choosing the right motorbike helmet is definitely a crucial issue, for different reasons. Comfort, protection, aerodynamics, weight: are all essential features, especially in extreme situations like when riding on the track. But first of all here are some useful tips for those who are looking for the first time for a full face helmet. First and foremost I highly recommend to try on the helmet to get the right fit. If you buy an helmet on Amazon only for its appeal and design then… you’re doing a remarkable mistake. As a matter of fact we all have different head sizes which request different helmets. That is why you need to take into consideration the inner parts, which can be completely customizable. If you are hollow-cheeked, for instance, you can easily combine “M” shell with “S” cheek pads. Particular attention should also be reserved for the visor. If you usually race on the track you shouldn’t wear the inner sun visor that could disturb your view. Two visors, Clear and Smoke, are here recommended. The locking system is another key point. In my opinion the double D ring system represents the most precise and secure of all locking systems. Last but not least, the price. I suggest you to choose a full face helmet with a price not under 200 euros. Let’s keep in mind that the helmet must comply with the European homologation standards. The homologation label is positioned inside the helmet. Finally, here is our special list of the best racing helmets currently on the market. We only considered the size “M” and we weighed all of them, one by one, in order to check the technical features declared by each brand. The Italian manufacturer AGV offers an extremely advanced helmet, developed on the MotoGP tracks in close collaboration with Valentino Rossi. The new Pista GP R features improved aerodynamics thanks to the wind tunnel-tested Biplano aero spoiler. This last-mentioned solution, according to the brand, should guarantee an unrivalled stability standard even when riding at high speed. The new Pista GP R features a 100% Carbon shell and perfectly integrated a ventilation system layered with a 5-density EPS shell. AGV exclusively offers two “M” sizes (MS and ML), to fit like a glove to each head. A world first is the integrated hydration system, built into the Carbon fiber shell. It consists of internal channels engineered into the helmet’s shell that lead to a drinking valve at the chin area. This new full face helmet is offered by AGV in four sizes, from XS to XXL. As for what concerns the visor, it adopts a patented fastening system. Prices that range from 1.200 euros. Arai began making helmets in 1937. From then onwards, the Japanese manufacturer conceived its helmets with a round shape. According to Arai engineers this particular design can be effective in case of crash. Arai produces all the shells in Super Fiber. As a matter of fact the brand declares that this kind of fiber is 30% more resistant than others. The RX-7V definitely represents the flagship model of Arai’s wide range. Its shell is smoother than the previous model and is perfectly combined with the new visor opening system. The inner parts are removable and washable and the air ventilation system has been improved. The helmet is also offered in Carbon fiber version at a premium price of 3.199 euro. Born in 1974 in Bergamo, the Italian helmets manufacturer Caberg enriches its range with an exclusive full face sport tourer model, equipped with a removable sun visor. Its name is Drift Evo. With this special helmet in 2018 Massimo Roccoli won the Supersport 600 Italian Championships for the sixth time. The shell is offered in two sizes. Aerodynamics are even more advanced than in the past, thanks to the rear spoiler which also reduces both turbulence and background noise. The visor is activated with a quick release system thanks to a small lever positioned on the left of the fastening mechanism. On sale in many colors and ready to accommodate an intercom. The Caberg Drift Evo is also available with Carbon fiber shell at 379,99 euros. Born in 2014, the partnership between Suomy and the Indonesian manufacturer Kyt still continues. Its R&D dept. however remains based in Italy. The NX Race represents the new 2019 top-of-the-range and is already used by many MotoGP champions. Its shell, available in two sizes, has been conceived with an exclusive composite material (kevlar, carbon and fiberglass). A special Carbon version is also offered. Aerodynamic performances have been obtained from in-depth wind tunnel tests, small rear spoiler included… Other distinctive features include a wide visor, quick release system, washable and hypoallergenic fabrics together with three-channel ventilation system. The Arrow C Evo is the new top-of-the-race helmet by L2S. The aerodynamic shape of the outer shell provides for a large lateral vision. This shell, available in four sizes, features multiple layers of L2S’s exclusive wide-weave carbon fiber. A multi-density EPS provides an even better protection. The (patent pending) quick release system is perfectly integrated in the shell profile. The command that opens the helmet is positioned on the chin guard. Particular attention has been reserved for the internal parts in Breath special fabric. Nose and anti-wind protection are included in the package. Unveiled at EICMA 2018, the Scorpion Exo-R1 Air is the new full face helmet dedicated to race passionates. The outer shell is offered in three sizes and is built in Ultra-TCT fiber. As declared by the company, this last-mentioned technology provides for a higher level of protection. The shell has an aerodynamic shape, while the inner parts are in foam. The Kwikwick 3 lining is breathable, absorbent and antibacterial, fully removable and washable. The Scorpion Exo-R1 Air is covered by a 5 year warranty and comes with the FIM certification. The German company Schuberth, among the leader companies specialized in the production of the touring helmets, introduces the SR2 helmet, which is the result of deep wind tunnel-tests. The external shell is available in three sizes. The inner shell of the helmet consists of multiple densities of EPS. The SR2 has an updated easily removable, hypoallergenic and anti-bacterial Coolmax interior. At the Shark stand of EICMA 2018 specific focus has been give to the top-of-the-range Race-R Pro GP which is the replica version of the helmet worn by MotoGP and SBK riders. Standard feature is the rear spoiler. Its shell comes in a COVA (Carbon On View & Aramid) structure, which guarantee optimal resistance to abrasion, compression and delamination. The inner shell is made of multi-density EPS, while the chin guard features a removable anti-pollution air filter. And what about the visor? It is characterized by an ergonomic shape and a quick release system. Sanitized® treatment ensures antimicrobial efficiency, while shape memory ear pads increase a long-lasting comfort feeling. The replicas of Jorge Lorenzo, Johann Zarco and Scott Redding are also available. Definitely the Marc Márquez’s feedback has been crucial in the development of the most performing helmet ever produced by the Japanese brand. As a matter of fact the new Shoei X-Spirit III includes high level features such as safety, comfort, ventilation and aerodynamics. As for what concerns safety, Shoei’s staff worked on the shell, which is built with six fiber layers, as well as on the pad, visor with double blocks and on the emergency quick release system. Overall comfort comes from the shell (available in four sizes), the modular interiors, the quick dry system, the removable and washable pad. Ventilation is still a crucial aspect for the comfort: three front vents and four rear vents should ensure excellent visibility and aeration, even in adverse conditions. The Japanese technicians didn’t forget to focus on aerodynamics either, a very important factor testified by the particular shell shape. Developed and tested on the track at the highest levels of competition, such as MotoGP and SBK, the X-803 is the X-Lite’s latest full face racing helmet. It maintains and enriches the consolidated technical features of its predecessor, the X-802RR. As the previous model it features the emergency cheek pad removal system (NERS – Nolan Emergency Release System) and three outer shell sizes. The lateral visibility of the new X-803 has been improved. The chin protector has been slightly lengthened, to offer higher level of comfort. The rear aerodynamic spoiler with adjustable profile ensures great stability even at high speed. The ventilation system adopts three front air intakes located at the top of the helmet, along with another entrance positioned in the chin area. Inner comfort padding with a net construction is also a feature. An Ultra Carbon version is also available. In conclusion, the current racing helmet market offers an extensive choice of products. But all the helmets protagonists our special list completely meet crucial parameters such as fitting, safety, ventilation and comfort. And last but not least… keep trying on helmets until you find the ideal size.
