SUPER WHY ABC Letter Game: Learn Letters, Rhyming, and Reading! ABC Song PBS Kids


Hey ToyRappers, how you doin’? I got another great present to open up for you today. It’s very colorful.
But before we get started let’s see what we have back here.
We’ve got the entire Peanuts gang back here. We’ve got Charlie Brown, Linus,
Woodstock, Snoopy, Lucy and of course, Peppermint Patty.
Alright, let’s open this present up and see what we have inside.
We’ve got a board game. This is the SuperWhy ABC Letter Game.
On the front we have Super Why, we have Princess Presto, Wonder Red, Alpha Pig
and a dog with a blue cape and a red collar. Do you guys know the name of this dog?

Guys this looks like a pretty awesome game, so let’s open the box up.
Ok it looks like we have an instruction sheet. It doesn’t look that difficult to play.
So we also have this character card in the box. It looks like we need to pop the character cards out.
In order to use them and here I think is the spinner.
Here is Alpha Pig, Wonder Red and Princess Presto.
Let me take out the spinner. I think we’re going to have to make the spinner.
Here’s the board and some additional pieces there, and a stack of cards.
I’m going to take out the pieces from this bag and I’m going to build all of the characters.
So here are the character cards and in order to build them you just pop them into the holders.
So Alpha Pig has an orange helmet, so I’m going to put it on the orange base here.
Wonder Red obviously is red, so I’m going to put her on the red base.
Princess Presto has a lot purple on her, and so I’m going to put her on the purple base
Or some might want to say the violet base.
And even though Super Why is mostly green, he has a blue cape and so therefore I’m going to stick him on
the only base that is left, which is the blue one.
In order to build the spinner, you flip it over, you put this circular piece on the back
and then you snap in the arrow.
If we do this correctly it should spin.
So this is the board of the game and as you can tell this looks like the computer from the TV show
with the keyboard, beebee boopboop beeboop…
and the alphabet

So I’m going to put the decks of cards right here.
There are four decks of cards, each corresponding to the different characters in the TV show.
So there’s Super Why, Wonder Red, Princess Presto and Alpha Pig
You start at the starting point, which is the green circle, and you make your way around the board
until you get to the red circle, which is marked “Finish.”
So let’s start playing a little bit.
I’m going to be playing with Super Why and Wonder Red.
The youngest player goes first.
I’m going to start out with Wonder Red.
You spin the circle.
Four! Wonder Red advances four spaces. 1, 2, 3, 4.
I just landed on Super Why, so I pick up the SuperWhy card.
It says, “Point to the word on the board that matches this picture.
Clue: The word starts with ‘B’.”
This picture is a picture of a bell. So I’m going to be looking for the word “bell” on the board.
I see it! It’s right here.
B – E – L – L.
Ok, since I got it right, I get to keep this card.
Ok, Super Why’s turn.
I got one.
So I’m going to move Super Why one spot. One.
The card is a Wonder Red card, so I’m going to pick up a Wonder Red card.
It says “HILL rhymes with DRILL. Say three words that rhyme with HILL and DRILL.”
Hmmm…there’s SHRILL, there’s BILL and there’s…
hmm… I can’t figure it out.
If you get the card wrong, then you have to put the card back at the bottom of the pile.
Let’s see who’s next.
It’s Wonder Red.
Let’s see how many spots. We’re going to spin it.
Two! Ok.
One. Two.
Ok, I got an Alpha Pig card.
So I’m going to draw that.
“Point to the uppercase letter that matches…
Clue: Look next to the ‘Y’.” Ok I know this is a “Z”, so I’m going to point to it.
Which is right here, “Z”
Since I got this card right, I get to keep it in my pile.
Super Why’s turn. Let’s spin the spinner again.
Three!
1, 2, 3. I got a Super Why Card.
“Point to the word on the board that matches this picture.”
Do you guys know what that is?
“Clue: The word ends with ‘P’.”
This is a top. It’s spelled T-O-P.
So let’s look on the board if I can find T-O-P.
Ah! I see it. It’s right here. T-O-P.
I got this right, so I get to keep the card.
Ok, it’s Wonder Red’s turn again.
Spin again.
If you get “spin again,” you got to spin again.
Hmm…that’s on the line, but I think it’s a little bit closer to…
ah, no, that’s really on the line.
Ok, I’m going to spin again.
Spin again! Wow. This is my third time I’m going to spin.
Four. That was a close one, but I’m pretty sure it’s four. Alright.
So Wonder Red is going to move four spots.
1, 2, 3, 4. Alpha Pig card!
“Point to the uppercase letter that matches…
Clue: Look next to the ‘X’.”
Do you guys know what letter this is? That’s right, it’s a “Y”.
Here it is. Y
I got this right so I’m going to keep this card.
Ok, Super Why’s turn again.
He’s kind of far behind, right?
But in the end it doesn’t really matter who’s far behind because
as soon as everybody finishes you count up your cards and whoever has the most cards wins.
Four. 1, 2, 3, 4. Alright, I got a Super Why card again.
“Point to the word on the board that makes Super Why’s silly sentence make sense.
The bird sleeps in a pan.” Huh, that’s silly!
“Clue: The word ends with T.”
Ok, so what does a bird sleep in?
Do you guys know?
I think a bird sleeps in a nest.
So let’s look for “nest” on the board.
Do you guys see it?
Ah! Right there.
Nest. N-E-S-T.
Alright, so I got this right. I get to put this one in my pile.
Wonder Red’s turn.
Three. 1, 2, 3.
Alright, I got a Wonder Red card.
“BUG rhymes with RUG. Say three words that rhyme with BUG and RUG.”
Wow, these Wonder Red cards are pretty hard.
Ok, let’s see.
There’s TUG, there’s SNUG and there’s…
HUG!
Alright, so I got this right so I get to keep this card.
It is Super Why’s turn again.
Four, again! 1, 2, 3, 4.
Man, Super Why always gets Super Why cards!
“Point to the word on the board that makes Super Why’s silly sentence make sense,
The dog is bright.
Clue: The word starts with ‘S’.”
Ok, what is bright? The sun is bright.
The word starts with “S” so maybe it’s a sun?
Let’s see.
Hmmm…
Ah ha! Sun. Up here. S-U-N.
Since I got this right, I get to keep the card.
Ok, we’re getting kind of close to the end here. Wonder Red’s turn.
Spin again.
Three! 1, 2, 3.
Oh, Super Why again.
“Point to the word on the board that makes Super Why’s silly sentence make sense,
The jar spins quickly. Clue: The word ends with P”
Hmm…What spins quickly?
The spinner spins quickly, but that doesn’t end in P.
Hmmm…Let’s see what spins quickly and it ends in a P.
Does this end in P? No, nope, nope, nope. Dog? Nope.
Top! Huh. A top spins quickly.
That must be it.
T-O-P.
And I got this card right, so I’m going to keep it.
Super Why’s turn.
Three. 1, 2, 3.
And it looks like we’re on a Princess Presto card.
This is the first time we’ve ever gotten a Princess Presto card.
“Point to the first letter in the word
Clue: The word starts with H.”
This is a hat, and it starts with an H
so it’s right here…H.
And since we got it right, we get to keep the card.
Ok, Wonder Red is one away from the finish.
So I’m pretty sure that anything we spin, we go to the finish.
Except for maybe “spin again,” in which we have to spin again! Ok, so.
Two! Alright, we’re at the finish.
Next is Super Why’s turn. So let’s see what we get.
One. Oh, so Super Why got one more chance to get a card. He got a Super Why card.
“Point to the word on the board that makes Super Why’s silly sentence make sense,
The cat flies at night. Clue: The word starts with B.”
Ok, so what flies at night?
I know that bats fly at night,
and here it is, B-A-T.
I got that right, so I get to keep the card.
And I know that the next spin, Super Why will be at the finish.
Alright, so that is the end of the game, and now we count up all the cards.
So these are Wonder Red’s cards.
1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
Ok, so Wonder Red has five cards.
Now let’s count up Super Why’s cards.
1, 2, 3, 4, 5,
Both Super Why and Wonder Red both got five cards!
That means they both win.It’s a tie!
Yeeaaaahhhh!!!
